Graduation patterns are trencadis mosaics that include the a transition between different colours.
Three or four colours are used, including white. In order to maintain a visual balance, the darkest tone of the

UTS Health & Science Building
Durbach Block Jaggers Architects
Durbach Block Jagger’s approach to
the UTS Health & Science building was
to design a river of light whilst looping
connected spaces carved through
a rational block. The spiral concrete
staircase winding up from floors two to
seven is lined in 950 square metres of
Trencadis that reflects the light that pours
through a skylight creating a dappling
effect facilitating a space that encourages
people to meet, or mingle, or move.
A space that is liquid-like creating pools
for study or moments of connection.
